Job Description
Research in Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, and Machine Learning has already made a deep impact in Disney Streaming's sports and entertainment products. Research Scientists at Disney Streaming are breaking new ground by making our systems fully aware of its physical and digital environment, redefining artificial intelligence, and creating stunning technology for computer vision, natural language processing, machine learning, and large-scale real-time systems. We are pioneering innovative techniques that combine computer graphics and computer vision to advance state-of-the-art visual computing technologies. Areas of interest include but are not limited to: (1) CV: human pose estimation, 3D human reconstruction, object detection and tracking, action detection and classification, scene understanding; (2) CG: building 3D simulation scene including human 3D model animating.

The goal of the DSAR team is to take Disney Streaming's sports data acquisition and analysis technologies to the next level of intelligence and accuracy using advanced machine learning techniques. From improving core modeling algorithms to creating experiments and implementing prototypes rapidly, you would work on newer challenges every day, specifically focusing on the grounding of data analysis aided by visual context. You would also work on building real-time, scalable, distributed systems to deliver these models for live sports operations. This position involves a wide variety of skills and innovation, and is a rare opportunity that sits at the cutting-edge of machine learning and software engineering. Ultimately, your work would have a huge impact on millions of users across the globe.

Responsibilities:
• Expertise and experience in computer vision, natural language processing, machine learning, and computer graphics.
• Programming experience in one or more of the following: C/C++, Python or equivalent
• Experience with one or more deep learning libraries, like PyTorch or TensorFlow
Experience with one or more 3D creation platforms, like Unreal, Unity or Blender
• Strong academic and publication record and contributions to research communities in CV, NLP or ML
• Hardworking, self-starter, shown ability to research and develop projects to deadlines while not sacrificing the research process.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to get along with all levels of engineers and management.

Basic Qualifications:
• Solid research background and experience in computer vision, machine learning, image/video analysis algorithms, and computer graphics.
• Current knowledge of research literature in Computer Vision with a history of publication in related fields.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

Required Education

Masters or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Vision, Robotics, related field or equivalent experience with a specialization in CV, NLP or CG
