Job Description
Hulu's Content Operations team is seeking a Senior Quality Control Technician to help deliver a high-quality experience to our viewers. As a Senior Quality Control Technician for Hulu, you will be responsible for the quality control process and workflow management for Hulu Originals and Licensed content on Hulu. The right person for this role is very meticulous, understands video and metadata quality control, demonstrates strong time management skills, and is outstanding at communicating both technical and non-technical information to internal teams and external partners, and excels in cross-team collaboration. Responsibilities:
• Review large volumes of video, multi-track audio, and timed text against strict deadlines
• Research and normalize metadata across VOD and live platforms
• Ensure content integrity by auditing and evaluating against quality standards, monitoring systems for alerts and take corrective actions, and perform routine asset management tasks
• Engage with media partners to track and troubleshoot deliveries, identifying video issues and offering solutions
• Troubleshoot technical video, XML, and timed text issues
• Make frequent subjective decisions, including determining the severity of issues detected during QC
• Fix content-related issues flagged by Hulu viewers and media partners
• Triage incidents for Hulu's Content, Product and Engineering teams according Hulu's Incident Management protocols
• Track and report content and operational issues using JIRA
• Actively learn, test and provide feedback on proprietary tools

Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum of 3 years digital video experience and/or digital asset management
• Deep understanding of technical video and audio specifications (e.g. video bit rates and codecs)
• Understanding of closed captions and subtitles
• Familiarity with HDR and ATMOS formats
• Flexibility in adapting to changes in processes, workload, and priorities
• Ability to monitor and resolve multiple incidents concurrently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of management
• Fervent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, raising concerns when needed
• Willingness to work an overnight schedule
• Bachelor's Degree in Digital Video, Film or related degree preferred

Preferred Qualifications:
• Spanish language proficiency
• Knowledge of various digital delivery protocols
