Job Description
We are looking for a curious and enthusiastic generalist with a strong technical background to drive insights, reporting automations and increase the effectiveness of our content and marketing in a highly data-driven organization. The successful candidate will have a varied background in business analysis and/or data science.

You will thrive in this role if you have a passion for: 1) where data meets function, are very curious, and strive for continuous improvement in an organization; 2) working closely with a variety of teams, especially Content, Marketing, Finance, and Operations; 3) various and fast-changing business challenges and; 4) are able to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders across Canada and other Disney regions.

This role reports to the Director of Strategy, Operations & Analytics and will be responsible for developing and generating reports and driving insights and analysis, supporting all of Disney+ Canada stakeholders, but with a primary focus on supporting marketing, content and operational efforts to grow subscribers and viewer engagement in Canada.

Main Responsibilities
• Mine, analyze, and transform data into actionable insights for different teams across Canada streaming (Content, Marketing, Operations, etc.)
• Define and calculate key business metrics that will assist with Content Acquisition, Programming and Marketing objectives
• Develop forecasts for and analyze engagement results across new and existing content
• Find and help capitalize on opportunities to optimize growth
• Maintain and ensure the accuracy and consistency of data throughout the data lifecycle
• Monitor industry trends and report on the impact to Disney Canada's business
• Lead Disney Streaming Canada's innovation for development of data collection, reporting and insights
• Enrich subscriber experience and increase engagement through research, data analysis, prediction, and modeling

Basic Qualifications:
• 7+ years experience in business analysis, insights, or data science role, preferably with media / entertainment experience
• Advanced Excel/PowerPoint and/or Google Sheets/Slides with experience in automating and modeling data, including working with APIs
• Strong technical skills required (e.g. Advanced SQL, knowledge of Python, R, or Javascript)
• Experience using visualization tools such as Tableau and Looker
• Past experience working in management consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy with a media industry focus is considered an asset
• The ability to analyze and transform large and disparate data sets into articulate models and concepts
• A critical thinker with not only the ability to find and understand the data, but also the curiosity to transform the data into business objectives

Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Quantitative Science, Computer Science, Data Science, a similar field, or equivalent practical experience (Master's degree is preferred)
