The Commerce, Growth & Identity (CGI) team is dedicated to three business-critical areas at Disney that will help transform its media business. They create seamless user experiences for consumers who can choose from a wide range of subscription plans, enabling more choice and flexibility. The CGI team is also focused on building innovative and cutting-edge capabilities that will drive subscriptions, engagement, and monetization across Disney's streaming and digital products.

What You Will Do

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated entry-level software engineer to join our team that is passionate about developing highly scalable and critical applications. In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers to design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions that power our critically important systems. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and support. You will support a variety of backend systems that directly support the Disney+ platform as part of the CGI organization. You will also contribute to dynamic, autonomous and self-motivated software team that owns the full development, delivery and operational support responsibilities of critical global services.

Your responsibilities will be:
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into scalable software solutions
• Design, develop, and test software components that are reliable, scalable, and high-performing
• Implement standard processes for code quality, performance, and security
• Participate in code reviews to ensure consistency to coding standards and best practices
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing software systems, ensuring smooth operation of critical applications.
• Work with partners to capture feedback and iterate on software solutions to meet evolving needs.
• Know the latest with new technologies and industry trends to continually improve our software development processes and solutions

Required Qualifications & Skills
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming concepts
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, Scala, C++, or C#
• Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work optimally in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $98,000 to $131,300 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
