Senior Technical Program Manager

Job Description

Disney Streaming is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to facilitate the development, rollout and adoption of several projects that extend the functionality of the orchestration layer, used by clients to communicate with our core services for information regarding our subscribers and their subscriptions across Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ and Star+. In this role, you are expected to work with various partners including Product & Engineering Teams to coordinate cross-team initiatives that deliver on Disney Streaming business goals & objectives.

We are a fast-paced and fast-growing team where you will have influence over the services and tools built by the team. You will also have an opportunity to learn about the international landscape and challenges in the area of billing, payments, subscriptions, offers, and promotions as our streaming services launch around the world.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the delivery of projects from concept to completion by collaborating with engineering teams, product management and developing detailed project plans from development to deployment
• Understand architectural and design specifications. Suggest alternate solutions that achieve business goals and/or drive alternate solution development via collaborative mechanisms such as story mapping and whiteboarding
• Facilitate technical meetings; follow the discussions in order to summarize and capture outcomes
• Facilitate team agile ceremonies (standups, grooming, team retrospective and planning sessions)
• Track team progress against deliverables and work with the team to identify solutions to get back on-track when the team falls behind schedule
• Work with the development team to create delivery timelines of feature sets for projects, and be able to sequence the work based on priorities
• Collaborate with other TPMs to understand cross-team dependencies and prioritize the work to avoid impediments
• Attend project meetings and be ready to communicate team progress, risks with mitigation plans and communicate any issues
• Ability to handle multiple team requests and balance that against competing priorities and committed work. Must understand the impact of injecting these requests to the team's backlog

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience as a Program Manager, Project Manager, or Scrum Master for a software development team
• Demonstrated ability with Agile project management in a hands-on role
• Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and growing transparency
• Technical knowledge of architecture and development practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
