Senior Software Engineer in Test

Job Description

The Quality Platform team supports Disney Streaming Services which offers live and on-demand TV and movies, with and without commercials, both in and outside the home. Operating at the intersection of entertainment and technology, Quality Platform consists of people who are passionate about redefining TV through innovation, unconventional thinking, and embracing fun. As a team, we provide solutions across the Quality organization using technology stacks like Java, Python, React, Spinnaker, Selenium, pytest, etc. You will be responsible for developing frameworks, test infrastructure, and other tools that are necessary for QA to work quickly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:
• Design, architect and implement large scope testing frameworks across frontend and backend services as well as Hulu's Web, Living Room and Apple client teams
• Ownership of daily engineering work- ideate, review, design, build, code-review, test, launch, monitor and maintain
• Treat quality as a habit and enforce software engineering best practices and appropriate design patterns
• Actively mentor other engineers

Basic Qualifications:
• 3+ years relevant software engineering experience
• Strong system design and analytical skills
• Mastery in Java and/or Python
• Does extremely well with communication and collaboration
• Strong teamwork ethic and strive for perfection
• Strong experience mentoring other software engineers and teaching best practices
• Strong system design and analytical skills
• Experience using Automation Testing Framework (such as Selenium, Appium, etc…)

Preferred Qualifications:
• 7+ years of relevant software engineering experience or software automation experience
• Solid in cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Spinnaker, Jenkins and/or Kubernetes

Required Education

Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or related field.

This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely. A remote opportunity may be possible for qualified candidates under certain circumstances and, if granted, the employee would work remotely on an ongoing basis.
