The Product & Data Engineering team is responsible for end to end development for Disney's world-class consumer-facing products, including streaming platforms Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, and digital products & experiences across ESPN, Marvel, Disney Studios, NatGeo, and ABC News. The team drives innovation at scale for millions of consumers around the world across Apple, Android, Smart TVs, game consoles, and the web, with our platforms powering core experiences like personalization, search, messaging and data.

As a member of our ESPN Vidcom Web team you'll get to build video and streaming features that create an outstanding experience for users on espn.com. The work on our team sits at an exciting intersection of sports, streaming technology, and modern frontend development.

Responsibilities
• Build frontend features that are used by millions of fans around the world
• Partner with other engineering teams to solve problems while considering performance, scalability, caching, resiliency, and flexibility
• Work with native teams to develop seamless webview integrations within the ESPN app
• Own all aspects of a frontend feature development from API integration and JSON parsing to building UI components and render logic
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, knowledge-sharing, and technical investigations.
• Break down large tasks, perform code reviews and mentor junior engineers
• Architect new solutions and identify new technologies to explore

Basic Qualifications
• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience
• Working knowledge of web standards, new technologies, and tools
• Mastery of JavaScript and JS frameworks
• Writes well-documented, clear, and robust code
• Effective communicator, collaborator, and teammate
• Able to multi-task and prioritize as needed
• 5 years relevant industry experience

Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced understanding and professional development with React and NodeJS
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and services like AWS (Cloudfront, EC2, S3, etc)
• Experience with isomorphic applications and server side rendering

The hiring range for this position in New York is $142,516- $191,180 per year; the hiring range for this position in Santa Monica/Burbank/Glendale/L.A., California and in Bristol, Connecticut is $136,100 - $182,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
