As a member of the Video Playback Experience QA team the analyst will be responsible for assessing playback quality, stability, and UI functionality of the internally-built video players used across multiple connected device platforms. The QA Analyst will be responsible for the creation and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts to verify new and existing playback features. The QA Analyst will test the functionality, performance, and UX of video players from pre-integration through full integration in the client via Grey Box, Regression, Release, Stress, and Negative testing methods.. The ideal candidate will contribute both to the definition and the enforcement of quality assurance processes and procedures based on best practice methodology.
Responsibilities:
• Accountability for participating in test activities, creating detailed test plans and writing test cases
• Provide status updates for all QA/TPM/Dev resources during the testing cycle
• Proactively learn the backend infrastructure, new testing and technology trends, upcoming releases
Basic Qualifications:
• 3+ years of QA or relevant experience
• Manual testing experience
• Familiarity with Video Streaming Applications
• A WFH space with enough room to house up to 3 Smart TVS (43'' to 55'') and several additional devices (e.g. Set Top Boxes, PlayStation Test Kits)
• Ability to work constructively both within a large organization and a small team
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of video compression standards such as AVC, H.264, HEVC, H.265, AV1, etc
• Knowledge of advanced and emerging A/V standards such as HDR10, Dolby Vision, and Atmos
• Familiarity with proxy tools such as Charles Proxy/MITM
• Able to identify visual quality artifacts
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Education
• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or related field OR equivalent experience
