The Ads & Data Platform team is responsible for building and delivering the technology that supports Disney's industry-leading, multi-billion dollar advertising business. Working across all of Disney's streaming and linear channels, this team's scope is wide ranging – they impact everything from core infrastructure development to the viewer-first ad formats subscribers see on their screens. Award-winning technologies, like the proprietary Disney Ad Server or DRAX, Disney's programmatic advertising solution, are the backbone of Disney's ad business and a key driver of Disney's future success. The Ad Infrastructure & Devops team is seeking a talented principal software and cloud engineer to join our team. Our systems enable DevOps practices so teams' feature releases can be faster and more stable in production. Our platforms and tools reduce the cognitive load of ownership and operations so that teams can devote the majority of their time to delivering business value.

Job Summary
• You'll design and write automation tools to support developers deploying and running cloud infrastructure.
• You will implement and execute best practices and security standards for operating in the cloud.
• You will curate and contribute to a library of shared terraform modules.
• When we hit the limits of our scale, you will lead investigations and RCA's to continuously improve by learning from failures.
• You will mentor other devops engineers on infrastructure and devops best practices such as Infrastructure as Code, etc.
• You will participate in on-call rotations.
• You will provide support to dev teams for our tooling and platform.

Basic Qualification
• Bachelor or above in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or another comparable field of study
• Expert level experience with AWS at least 10 years
• Expert level of experience with AWS IAM, at least 5 years
• Expert level experience with kubernetes at least 5 years
• Expert level experience with Terraform (at least 4 years)
• Advanced understanding of Istio (or similar service mesh) at least 3 years

Preferred Qualification
• Advanced Java/Go/Python experience, at least 5 years
• Build engineering/release engineering with CI/CD, at least 3 years
• Deep understanding of cloud networking and HTTP/S
• Advanced understanding of distributed systems
• Experienced with Terraform Enterprise, Istio, Spinnaker, EKS, Data platforms, relational databases, non-relational databases

''The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $180,646 to $242,330 year, in San Francisco is $197,866 to $265,40 per year, and New York, NY or Seattle, WA is between $189,256 – $253,880. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
