Manager, Visual Communications (Disney Entertainment Television)
Disney Entertainment Television (DET) is seeking a Manager, Visual Communications to manage the video deliverables (electronic press kits, featurettes, clips, etc.) that are part of the overall publicity campaign for DET programming. This position reports to the Visual Communications Producer and will ensure that each element of a video project is completed on time and on budget in the most effective and efficient manner possible. Supporting the Visual Communications Producer, this candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and distributing publicity video assets related to DET programming.
Responsibilities:
• See videos through the entire production process, from concepting, pre-production to final edit and publishing (arrange crews for video shoots, coordinate and conduct interviews with talent, work with editors to produce electronic press kits and featurettes).
• Pitch, book and produce satellite media tours.
• Ideate future video concepts alongside the rest of the creative team.
• Maintains appropriate processes, procedures, forms, and job tracking to keep video deliverables on time and on budget.
• QC video files before releasing final files to the end user(s).
• Communicate plans and progress to relevant stakeholders.
• Gather, traffic and QC video assets for Publicity events (including TCA Press Tours, FYC events and other panels); serves as director or co-director in the control room for many of these events.
• Work with post teams and other departments and studios to secure necessary approvals and clearances for clips.
• Work in a variety of key areas related to publicity production, including clip fulfillment, affiliate media tours, press alerts and events.
• Work with media managers to ensure timely acquisition of digital assets for publicity usage, including screeners, clips, screenings, special requests, Upfronts and TCA Press Tour.
• Maintain a superior level of quality control over all video content and enforce content posting and deletion dates and times.
• Manage Press Site users and backend; maintain distro list for press blasts.
• Work with internal licensing partners on securing clip clearance for press appearances.
Basic Qualifications:
• 2+ years of progressive experience in a related role on a publicity, marketing, or production team.
• Comprehensive understanding of video specs and file formats.
• Prior experience with video production and digital asset management.
• Prior experience in the A/V production space.
• Prior experience working with talent and/or press.
• Prior experience pitching, booking and scheduling media tours.
• Expert organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, monitor, and manage workload to meet deliverables.
• Excellent writing, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work effectively and collaboratively on a team.
• Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel or equivalent
• Willingness to work overtime with short notice.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Smartsheet
• Knowledge of Disney Entertainment Television programming
Preferred Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or a related field, or equivalent work experience
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $90,500 to $124,410 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
