Job Description
The Walt Disney Studios is seeking a Manager, Program Management for Production Technology Operations to manage the portfolio of technology implementation projects supporting Disney Motion Picture Productions, Marvel Studios, Twentieth Century Studios, and Searchlight Pictures.
This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Program Management & Enabling Technology (PMET) that supports both Production Technology Architecture (PTA) and Production Technology Operations (PTO).
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the management of Program and Project Managers that support the Production Technology Operations pillars.
• Responsible for the management of the Incident and Change Management Team that supports Production Technology.
• Accountable for the proper intake, prioritization, resource planning, scheduling, development and execution of program and project plans for these pillars.
• Leverage PMET's business intelligence application (e.g., PowerBI) for executive reporting; develop KPIs to assess program, project and sprint planning health; and lead corrective actions as required.
• Ensure clear reporting of project status including timelines, milestone tracking, budget status, and risk or issue identification and resolution.
• Oversee Portfolio Reviews for PTO that provide executive leadership with monthly progress and risk assessments against pillar objectives and key results, portfolio and project health, and resource utilization. Identify root causes and take corrective action for any identified concerns
• Coordinate Quarterly Planning for PTO that establishes quarterly priorities, objectives and key results, capacity plans, and key performance metrics that will be used to measure progress and risk throughout the quarter.
• Oversee Portfolio Reviews for PTO that provide executive leadership with monthly progress and risk assessments against pillar objectives and key results, portfolio and project health, and resource utilization. Identify root causes and take corrective action for any identified concerns.
• Work with the Engineering Leadership Team, the Senior Manager of PMO for PTO and PTA, and the Director of PMET to define, maintain and execute technology roadmaps with key deliverables and milestone dates.
• Create workflow diagrams of production technology processes and identify opportunities to streamline processes or improve efficiency.
• Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Basic Qualifications:
• 8 years of experience in Technical Project Management, utilizing waterfall and agile methodologies.
• 4+ years of experience managing and developing project management teams to meet expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
• Strong Experience in both Waterfall and Agile project management tools, such as Smartsheet & Jira.
• Experience in the Media & Entertainment industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong experience in managing technical operations teams (i.e., IT hardware engineers, software developers).
• Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks and organizing work effectively.
• Good meeting facilitation skills and effective team player.
• Strong ability to develop and present business cases via PowerPoint or Keynote.
• Strong written and oral communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience working in a Feature or Episodic Production environment.
• Experience working in a Technology Engineering Operations department.
• PMP certification.
Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or related technical discipline.
The hiring range for this position in California is $149,240 - $200,200 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
