Job Summary:
Disney Entertainment is seeking a Marketing Finance Manager who will play a key role in supporting the streaming business which includes Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, Star+ and HotStar. This role plays a pivotal role in the strategy and financial planning for DTC Marketing and will work closely with key stakeholders across Marketing, Finance, and Accounting, and Content Planning to help execute on DTC financial goals.
This role will be focused on Hulu marketing spend, responsible for compiling marketing forecasts and tracking actual spend with a high degree of focus on marketing efficiency as it relates to acquiring subscribers.
Forecasts and reporting will aim to provide operational teams and executive management a snapshot into expected marketing spend and will also serve as the basis for ad hoc scenario analysis.
The pace and cadence for change at Disney Streaming necessitates an ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and roll up sleeves to support this important segment of the Disney business.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
• Build and track budgets through short-term and long-term planning cycles for all components of Hulu marketing and overhead, and Brand marketing across Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+
• Collaborate with multiple partners to support the quarter end reporting, forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans, as well as reports explaining variances between actual results and financial projections
• Work with cross-functional teams to consistently identify and improve operational efficiencies across both finance and operational departments, particularly as it relates to quarterly close, budgeting and reporting
• Collaborate with marketing finance across all DTC services on various analyses to identify the most efficient marketing tactics and best approach going forward
• Support streaming operation and finance leaders with financial information and detailed analysis
• Develop and evaluate business plans to size opportunities and risks and help interpret trends and results
• Build strong partnership with senior leaders and tactical teams to gather detailed understanding of factors driving success and areas for improvement or testing
• Manage a team of one to two direct reports
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
• 5-7 years of finance- and/or accounting-related work experience, ideally with direct-to-consumer, subscription, media/entertainment, and/or technology companies; business partnership experience with Marketing and Analytics teams is a plus
• Strong understanding of financial planning and analysis with a high degree of comfort using financial tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP
• Deliverable-focused, strong work ethic, able to prioritize, and resolve an array of issues simultaneously
• Team player with demonstrated success at building strong relationships with other teams (Analytics, Marketing etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to establish priorities and work independently
• High tolerance for ambiguity and working in a matrixed organization
Education
• Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred)
• Focus on finance, accounting, or other quantitative field a plus
The hiring range for this position in CA is $122,940.00-$150,260.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
