Job Summary
The successful candidate will be part of the Disney+ Korea Originals team, driving the development and production of premium scripted and unscripted Korean content that embodies Disney's creative excellence and global storytelling ambition.
This role works closely with local creators, producers, and cross-functional partners across APAC and global teams to build a slate of high-quality, distinctive Korean Originals that resonate locally and connect with audiences worldwide. The ideal candidate combines strong creative sensibility, deep market knowledge, and production management experience with the ability to champion bold ideas through a collaborative and structured process.

Key Responsibilities
Development / Pre-production / Set-up
• Identify, evaluate, and develop scripted and unscripted ideas with strong creative identity and global appeal
• Collaborate with writers, directors, producers, and studios to refine story direction, characters, tone, and format
• Guide projects through Disney's development and greenlight process, aligning creative vision with strategic goals
Production / Delivery Oversight
• Oversee all aspects of project execution, from pre-production through post, ensuring creative excellence, efficiency, and brand alignment
• Partner with internal teams including Production Management, Legal, Finance, and Marketing to maintain schedules, budgets, and workflows
• Manage potential production and reputational risks, ensuring compliance with Disney's global standards and sensitivities
Partnership / Relationship Management
• Build and sustain trusted relationships with Korea's creative community - including writers, producers, and talent agencies
• Partner closely with regional and global Disney+ teams to align Korea's originals with broader creative and content strategies
• Represent Disney+ as a creative partner of choice, fostering collaboration and co-development opportunities
• Contribute to slate planning and portfolio discussions, identifying growth and synergy opportunities across genres and markets
Qualifications
• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in content development, production, or commissioning for scripted and/or unscripted series at a major studio, network, or OTT platform
• Strong creative instincts and story evaluation skills, with proven ability to identify and elevate projects with both local resonance and global potential
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects from development through delivery, balancing creative ambition with operational execution
• Deep understanding of Korea's entertainment and production ecosystem, including leading creators, studios, and talent agencies
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Marketing, and Post-Production teams in a matrixed environment
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate creative insights into actionable plans that support business and brand objectives
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Awareness of content sensitivities, regulatory standards, and cultural nuances relevant to the Korean market
• Passion for storytelling and alignment with Disney's creative values and brand mission
• Fluency in both Korean and English (spoken and written) required
