As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading an engineering squad within the Identity Engineering organization. You will be empowered to make technical and architectural decisions, and to influence the roadmap for your squad and the wider team, working in partnership with your peers across Product, Project Management and Engineering. You will contribute to and be part of an engaging, dynamic and inclusive engineering organization, grounded in scrum and agile practices, CI/CD, great collaboration, functional programming and motivated by a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. Identity Engineering delivers Consumer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) capabilities across The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) including but not limited to: D+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Parks. Identity Engineering squads build and run high-traffic and globally replicated systems which form an integral and visible part of every user's journey at Disney properties. The Security Machine Learning squad is responsible for the design and development of online and offline machine learning (ML) features and models to detect malicious traffic and activity across the Identity Engineering platform using state of the art algorithms and tools.

Responsibilities
• Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of machine learning (ML) models in a cloud environment.
• Work with engineering teams to implement model pipeline and deploy the service at scale
• Collaborate with product team to define objectives and improve strategy and model.
• Mentor engineers within your squad (and beyond!) to help them improve their technical ability and build their profile within and outside of the organization.

Basic Qualification
• Proficiency in at least one of the following deep learning framework, tensorflow, pytorch
• Proficient in core technologies like Spark, Hadoop and Hive.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages, Python, scala, Java.
• 5+ years experience in one or more of the areas: machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, NLP, recommendation algorithm, Computational Advertising, Anomaly detection.

Preferred qualification
• participating in large-scale online machine learning platforms are preferred
• Good programming skills and a deep understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Good communication and teamwork skills, be passionate about learning new techniques and taking on challenging problems
• Experience in anomaly detection area is a plus.

#DISNEYTECH

The hiring range for this position in New York is $156,300-$209,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
