Job Summary:
Corporate Strategy & Business Development (CSBD) is responsible for developing strategies to drive long-term growth for the company. CSBD team works closely with the leaders of all businesses to drive and support strategy development and execution.
We seek a candidate with experience in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, or management consulting in Japan. This role requires a proven record of driving deal/strategy partnership experience, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent teamwork, effective communication in both Japanese and English, and the ability to collaborate across a diverse range of stakeholders, including multiple levels of business and functional teams within TWDC.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and drive the overall Japan strategy, M&A, and new business initiatives in Japan
• Drive TWDC's Long Range Plan process and ad-hoc strategy reviews
• Track, compile, analyze, and extract insights from key data needed to inform business strategies, such as industry trends, competitive analysis, and research to inform business strategies
• Develop business plans to capture new business opportunities and key growth initiatives
• Support the country and DTC GM in identifying, analyzing, and executing potential M&A and/or strategic partnerships in Japan in light of the local strategy
• Provide guidance, advice, and analytical support on strategy for all LOBs, including DTC and theatrical businesses in the local market
• Influence, engage, and gain buy-in to deliver strategic planning and growth objectives
• Support strategy execution and organizational transformation
Professional Qualifications and Experiences
• At least 10 years' experience in top-tier investment banking, corporate development, private equity, or management consulting in Japan with a proven record of deal experience (required)
• Strong understanding of media and content landscape in Japan
• A high level of familiarity with digital platform – SVOD; Preferably comes with relevant experience in digital space or e-commerce players/platforms
• Project management skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Solid experience in stakeholder management
• MBA from a top business school with 6+ years of post-MBA experience preferred
