Job Description
The Disney DTC Content Analytics team is looking for a Data Analyst to support the Sports Content vertical to measure, understand, and take action on content trends and audience behavior that impacts the strategic goals of ESPN and the wider TWDC organization. Our team's expertise is exploratory data analysis, sophisticated reporting and insight development, data visualization and storytelling to deliver impactful insights on content performance and audience engagement, with the Sports team focused on ESPN+ programming and live sporting events (both on ESPN+ and across platforms).
This role will support teams within the ESPN business unit as well as key partners from DTC to generate insightful, compelling, and strategic analyses that help make a difference. The right person for this role has exceptional analytical capabilities, thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves problem-solving, is a good communicator, and is passionate about sports.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct analyses to drive valuable business insights, using internal analytics tools and SQL to access and manipulate multivariate data
• Analyze viewership trends across leagues, seasons, and marquee sporting events to inform programming strategy and investment decisions.
• Design and develop sports-specific KPIs and measurement frameworks that reflect the unique dynamics of live sports consumption
• Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations tailored for both tactical use and strategic decision-making
• Build data visualizations and multi-faceted dashboards that convey key content engagement metrics, significant trends, and relationships across multiple data sources within the content domain that can be leveraged by stakeholders
• Effectively communicate results through compelling data storytelling, written reports, and presentations to technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization
• Provide ad-hoc analysis support to identify trends and impact of events that drive business performance
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Marketing, or related field
• At least 3 years of data analytics experience
• Proficient ability to read and write complex SQL queries, with the ability to apply business strategy to data analysis and recommendations
• Ability to think strategically, analyze and interpret first and third party information
• Experience manipulating large data sets and interpreting data trends using a multitude of disparate data sources and tools
• Experience with data exploration and data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker
• Strong analytical and technical skills to tackle issues, analyze the cause, quickly come up with possible solutions, detail the changes, and communicate organizational impact
• Demonstrable experience in detailing the data requirements, data strategy, data rules (standardization, cleansing, and validation)
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in the streaming media industry and/or supporting a direct-to-consumer or subscription-based product
• Experience presenting and contributing to data stories that are shared with key business partners
• Experience with data science techniques (e.g., regression, clustering, time series modeling) and coding in Python or R

The hiring range for this position in New York is $99,900 - $133,900 per year and in Los Angeles is $95,300 - $127,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
