Disney Streaming Advanced Research (DSAR) is part of Disney Streaming Services, the division responsible for the complete technical platform for the Disney DTC offerings. The DSAR team pioneers advanced application features to be enjoyed and loved by millions of viewers.

DSS is looking for an experienced UX Architect within Advanced Research (DSAR). The team works on consumer facing features for Disney+, Star+, ESPN+. Reporting to the Product & Research Director within DSAR, the UX Architect will focus on designing prototype experiences that leverage voice interaction, augmented reality, synchronous viewing, and machine learning.

Demand analysis, user psychology, and iterative design will be required to move rough ideas into compelling stories (presentation decks) and prototype wireframes (web and mobile). You will partner and iterate with prototyping engineers to turn new feature ideas into full-fledged demos for internal stakeholders and executives.

At any one time there are several projects in development by the team and some in pre-development. In the pre-development state, ideation and design thinking are the key skills. In development, executing wireframe features and screens that can be used by developers, and maintaining quality control on the demo implementation will fill your day. You will manage and create the user experience for all ongoing projects and prototypes.

Responsibilities:
• UX architecture and design for prototypes
• Create compelling stories (presentation decks) and prototype wireframes
• Collaborate with engineers to fine tune your work into development ready assets
• Present work to management and other stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:
• 6+ years of design experience including: Product Design, User Experience, UI, and Visual Design
• Experience providing direction for team & ability to collaborate across multiple projects
• Strong understanding of complex UX/UI behaviors and interactions on many different platforms.
• Comfortable preparing graphics for prototypes and presentations.
• Experience communicating concepts and findings to internal teams and external stakeholders
• Self-starter who does not have to be supervised in order to produce results.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and intermittent requirement changes
• Experience on working hands-on with engineers to create the best results s a team

Preferred Qualifications:
• Front End Design and Development with React & Javascript & CSS
• Passion to work with teams to bring product experiences to 'life'!
• Experience with video editing: from storyboarding and motion design
• Experience with Spatial design (AR/VR) and 3D design

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience

Additional Information:
• Expert Level Skills in Adobe Suite: Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator or XD
• Expert level use of Sketch or Abstract
• Working understanding of HTML, JS, React
• Experience working in Principle, Framer X, Proto.io or InVision
