Position Title: Vice President of Business Intelligence and Strategy


Responsibilities

Summary of Duties:

Partner with all Discovery Motortrend and Digital Teams to develop, implement, and manage a holistic data management, analytics, and insights roadmap, as well as utilize those insights to set up KPIs for the business and advise strategic acceleration of business growth and optimization. Work with both the Motortrend Group, a business within Discovery across its offline and online platforms, as well as support Discovery’s central Digital team, of which Motortrend Group is a part. Hold responsibility for data and insights to support product, engineering, content, sales, and marketing, and for insights supporting activities such as increasing and optimizing customer acquisition and retention, improving customer-facing products, launching new products, and increasing sales. Tie data to business outcomes, as well as recruiting and managing the BI & Strategy team to support these activities. Lead data setup, management, analytics, and visualization, and insights across all key functional groups, to support key management decision-making. Support analytics, strategy, insights, and visualization for the Discovery central digital team to support decision-making. Hold responsibility for maintaining metrics and KPIs across both Motortrend Group and Discovery Digital. Provide digital product goals, strategy and long-term vision. Develop strong cross-functional partnerships across Motor Trend and Discovery digital. Recruit, train, and manage the business intelligence and strategy team. This role supervises 5 direct reports. 10% International Travel Required.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field and eight (8) years of experience in Business Intelligence, Business Analytics, Corporate Development, Investment Banking, or Consulting. Experience must include: Six (6) years of experience with the following special skills: Key financial metrics and financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow; Financial valuation methods; Financial modeling; and Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Four (4) years of experience in Cross-functional team leadership. Three (3) years of experience with Hands-on experience with SQL (Oracle, Hive, MySQL), Adobe, and Tableau.
