Overview

JOB TITLE: Captain

DEPARTMENT NAME: Flight Ops

LOCATION: Teterboro, NJ

REPORTS TO (Title): VP of Travel & Flight Ops

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities of a Pilot-In-Command, PIC
• Final authority for the operation of the aircraft assigned.
• Ensure familiarity with all available information required for the safe operation of the flight.
• Responsible for safely conducting an assigned flight considering, but not limited to the following items:
• Reviewing the maintenance status of the aircraft to ensure the aircraft's airworthiness.
• The conduct of a proper preflight inspection in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual or accepted preflight checklist.
• Complete a check of weather and facilities along the route to be flown and airports to be used.
• Ensure the flight is conducted in accordance with the policies and procedures of this Manual and applicable regulations.
• Determine that weight and balance procedures are followed, and that the gross weight and CG of the loaded aircraft are within limits for operation.
• Ensure the safety and security of the passengers, aircraft and crew members.
• File a flight plan as required by FOM.
• Change, delay, discontinue, or cancel a flight when conditions are unsuitable or unsafe.
• Accurate completion of all trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures which includes all required documentation for international operations.
• Make an immediate report to using a Hazard Report on any hazardous event.

Job Responsibilities of a Second-In-Command, SIC
• Support the Pilot-in-Command with:
• Safe conduct of the flight.
• Ensure that manuals, charts, catering and other customer specific special items are on board the aircraft and that the aircraft is clean.
• Any additional duties assigned by the Pilot-In-Command.
• Develop the leadership skills, knowledge, judgment and technical ability required of a PIC, if not already qualified.
• Make an immediate report to using a Hazard Report on any hazardous event.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills
• Maintaining and holding a valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot License with appropriate type ratings and English Proficiency Endorsement, First Class Medical Certificate, and FCC Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
• Demonstrates necessary flying and decision-making skill required of the position.
• Is qualified in accordance with the Training Program.

Demonstrates knowledge of the content of the FOM, Training Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures and the provisions of the FAA civil aviation regulations and standards necessary to safely carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position.
