The News Media Exchange operator is involved in Newshub for Discovery NZ.
Our News Media Exchange Operators are responsible for the ingesting and recording of footage, playout operations and delivering comprehensive media management services across our news platforms, and we're looking for someone to join our team.

Responsibilities
• Able to work weekends and holidays
• Accurately process required ingest jobs and recordings based on department priorities
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to different demands.
• Ability to identify and prioritize problems and find alternatives
• Ability to work unsupervised, as well as working within a team environment
• Ability to work and remain calm under pressure.
• Edit and prepare media for various broadcast services using Avid Media Composer
• Responsible for housekeeping of video servers
• Excellent people and interpersonal skills.
• Such other duties as management may from time to time reasonably require

Qualifications
• Experience in broadcast television, film production or a related field
• A tertiary qualification in Broadcasting or a related field is preferred
• An understanding of a variety of media formats, workflows and be technically proficient
• Liaise with other teams within Newshub to ensure all required material is processed in time for broadcast
• This role requires the ability to multitask and work quickly with a good eye for detail.
