Meet Our Team:
DTC's many software engineering teams build applications for the web, mobile, tablets, connected TVs, consoles, and other streaming devices. DTC's Observability teams are responsible for unifying all operationally relevant data within WBD's technical ecosystem and turning it into navigable, understandable, and actionable insights for the broader engineering community. They build the systems which ingest, process, retain, meter, analyze, and visualize 100s of terabytes of logs, metrics, distributed traces, and catalog data on a daily basis. These technologists provide solutions to DTC's broader engineering community which helps them more effectively operate web, mobile, tablet, connected TV, console, and streaming devices and services.

We are a fast-growing, global engineering group crucial to WBD's future. We need a development leader who is comfortable turning the needs of our engineering community into a thoughtful vision, leading and mentoring senior managers, and acting as a change agent across the organization.

Responsibilities

The Director of Engineering is responsible for building a high-performing engineering team comprising engineering and program managers, software developers, and DevOps/SREs. and communicating the
platform vision. They will be owning independent aspects of the Observability Product roadmap and executing commitments to ensure smooth, trouble-free launches internationally. They will identify technology gaps and empower the engineering team to come up with proposals to address them. They
will audit and review service metrics and help the team continually improve engineering execution and operational effectiveness. They will attract and retain key talent and provide opportunities for professional and career growth. They will help identify customer dissatisfiers and delighters and provide
inputs to the overall platform roadmap to prioritize future investments and innovations.
• Building and managing a team of high-performing engineers and managers. Ensure retention through challenging professional opportunities and career growth prospects.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders across platform, back-end, and client engineering; program management; and operational excellence.
• Identify new opportunities and enhancements and feed them to the shared product roadmap for prioritization.
• Identify and manage vendor relationships and ensure smooth integration into the WBD product delivery process.
• Ability to manage complexity and uncertainty associated with new product development.

Qualifications

What to Bring:
- 10+ years leading and managing software development teams
- A track record of building, scaling, and growing diverse, global teams of 30+ engineers comprising multiple SDMs and ownership of an engineer-first software service/product.
- At least 10+ years of direct people management and 3+ years experience managing people managers.
- Experience with managing software and system delivery for DevOps/SRE/Observability platforms.
- Demonstrated experience with building systems using agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or similar).
- Robust experience in designing and building large-scale cloud based distributed systems incorporating sizeable containerized workloads
- Deep knowledge of high-velocity data streaming, storage, aggregation, and analysis platforms (Kafka, Apache Flink, ElasticSearch, Prometheus/Cortex, and comparable systems)
- Knowledge of operational tooling (CloudWatch, Splunk, SQL, Kibana, GitHub, Jenkins, Grafana,
APMs, and comparable) and how engineers interact with data using these tools to gain insight into their system

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $201,670 - $374,530 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
