Job Description
OverviewDiscovery NZ is looking for a graduate from a Tertiary or Television school to join the Media Operations team as a Broadcast Media Operator. Reporting to the Senior Supervisor Media Logistics and based in Auckland, you will support Discovery NZ Technical
Operations. This position involves shift work working day or night shifts and requires someone who has enthusiasm and places an emphasis on quality and customer service. The successful candidate will have an amazing attention to detail for spotting any issues with programmes, promos or ads. The purpose of the role is to to check and quality control of programmes, promos and ads, publishing programmes for ThreeNow and assist the Technical operations with playout for live events.
Responsibilities
Ingest of Ads and Promos into On-Premise Playout Automation System.
• Ingest Ads and Promos according to Sales and Promo work orders submitted.
• Follow up with Senior Supervisor Media Logistics, Sales and Creative teams for any missing materials and communicate with Broadcast Ops team.
• Maintain fault and error free media and associated information when entering databasing information and matching media.
Check and QC of Long Form Programmes for On-Premise playout
• Check and Enter database information for programmes one week from transmission for Three and Bravo according to the daily DNA Media segmentation report after dublist is processed.
• Enter any discrepancies to the weekly programme discrepancy tracker sheet for Senior Supervisor Media Logistics and Broadcast Operations team for follow up.
• Maintain fault and error free media and associated information when entering databasing information and matching media.
VOD Operations Publishing
• Publish programmes and furnish episodic images for Digital taking direction and prioritisation from the VOD Programme tracker sheet.
• Edit late arriving programmes and Live News programmes when required.
• Check programmes on the Digital platform after they go live. Troubleshoot any problems and correct as needed. Report any discrepancies to Media Coordinator or escalate to Senior Supervisor Content Preparation, Senior Supervisor Media Logistics, or Senior Manager Broadcast, Media and Studio Operations manager.
• Maintain fault and error free process when entering databasing information and matching media.
Check and QC of Co Pros and Highly Promoted programmes for Prime time Air masters for Three Brand
• Check and QC Co-Productions and Highly Promoted programmes using DSuite AQC tools for producer Portal delivered assets.
• Check and QC Primetime Air master Components one week from transmission taking direction and prioritisation from the Full TE AQC work orders assigned.
• Maintain fault and error free process.
Additional Tasks
• As requested from Senior Supervisor Media Logistics.
