Job Description

The Data Security Analyst's primary role is to maintain and monitor the security portion of Discovery's Privacy Program. The Data Security Analyst is a technology and process focused security professional who understands data protection threats, risk, and mitigating controls.They will assist in conducting data security compliance activities, identify gaps, make recommendations, and work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to develop remediations to mitigate privacy and security risk.

Responsibilities
* Serve as a Data Security advisor within the Information Security Team, providing specialist knowledge and actionable data security guidance to the enterprise related to current and future processes, applications, documentation, and products
* Lead and coordinate data security assessments across Discovery's multiple business units
* Respond to day-to-day requests from Data Security, Information Security Team, and the CISO, such as advising on enterprise-wide initiatives
* Advise in designing and implementing technical security controls and processes to support Discovery's Global Privacy Program
* Develop and maintain PII Data Flow Diagrams for new products and services
* Coordinate with business and IT teams as an SME/InfoSec liaison, supporting data security initiatives

Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in MIS, CIS, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or IT security-related discipline
* At least 3 – 5 years experience in data privacy or information security risk
* Ability to prioritize work, remain flexible, and achieve against deadlines
* An understanding of privacy regulations (e.g., General Data Protection Regulation, California Consumer Privacy Act), and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills to interact with users, team members, and senior management
* Experience in project management and the ability to communicate data protection and privacy issues verbally on both a formal and informal basis to technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Working knowledge and experience reviewing corporate data policies, identifying gaps, and making recommendations for improvement
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications
* Desirable certifications include CISSP, CIPT, CISA, CISM, CDPSE, CIPP (US/E), or CIPT
* Experience working in a virtual team
* Self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn and grow
* Ability to work as an independent, productive, self-motivated individual in high-pressure situations
* 5+ years of data security compliance experience
* Working knowledge of JIRA
* Working knowledge and experience in leading and performing data security, data privacy audits, reviews, and IT/security audits
* Experience in developing and reporting performance and risk metrics (e.g., KPIs/KRIs – Status Reporting and Dashboard for senior management)
* Big 4 or Technology consulting experience
