Dick Clark Productions: Creative Director
We are seeking an experienced, visionary, and detail-oriented Creative Director of production to lead the design and visual execution of high-profile televised live awards shows, pre-recorded programs and ancillary events. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in live television production, stage design, and visual storytelling.
The Creative Director will be responsible for conceptualizing and realizing bold, inspiring creative directions for stage aesthetics, branding, and overall show atmosphere, ensuring an unforgettable audience experience both on-site and on-screen and will also be involved with all aspects of event production from ideation through post-event wrap.
As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.

Key Responsibilities:
Creative Vision & Concept Development:
• Develop and execute a cohesive creative vision for the live TV award shows, specials, and events in collaboration with key stakeholders, crafting innovative stage designs, visual themes, environmental layouts and artistic elements and that reflect the event's unique identity and prestige.
Set Design & Visual Elements:
• Manage the design, creation, and execution of staging elements, props, and branding integration to ensure a visually high-quality experience both onsite and on-camera.
Collaboration Across Teams:
• Collaborate with creative, production, and talent teams to seamlessly integrate staging, lighting, effects, and visual elements while ensuring cohesiveness and performer-friendly setups.
Production Oversight:
• Oversee the creative design team and production process, managing design, fabrication, and installation while addressing real-time challenges in a live production environment.
Budget Management:
• Work within budgetary constraints while maintaining a high standard of quality and propose cost-effective yet innovative solutions for staging and design needs.
Ancillary Event Production:
• Support the vision and strategies of event team in producing world-class industry and consumer-facing events.
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience as an Art Director, Creative Director, or similar role in live/pre-taped television production and large-scale events.
• Proven experience working on award shows, live broadcasts, televised concerts, or comparable high-profile events.
• Strong portfolio showcasing previous set designs, stage concepts, environmental transformation, and large-scale creative projects.
• Familiarity with live show operational workflow and technologies.
• Familiarity with the unique demands of live broadcast show timings and technical constraints.
• Expert knowledge of set design, scenic arts, production design, and stagecraft.
• Proficiency in latest design software including 3D modeling programs (SketchUp, AutoCAD, Cinema 4D), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), or similar.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to inspire and guide multidisciplinary creative teams.
• Expert knowledge of how lighting, camera work, and designs translate on-screen and in-venue.
Proven experience collaborating closely with creative leads, producers, event partners, and external vendors on dynamic projects with fast-paced timelines
Typical wage range: $150k - $170k. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.
