Job Description
This position is a summer associate immersion program with exposure to multiple areas of baseball operations in Lakeland and Detroit. The Associate will spend time at the Lakeland Complex, Comerica Park, and various Tigers affiliates performing several tasks as assigned by Tigers' Front Office personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist the day-to-day baseball operations of the Detroit Tigers in Lakeland and Detroit as directed by members of the Tigers' Front Office.
• Assist with supporting all Tigers player and staff needs including roster preparation, player files, preparing daily reports, and other operations related duties.
• Participate in weekly projects with different members of the Tigers Front Office focusing on different areas of baseball operations, including but not limited to salary arbitration, Professional Scouting, Rules and Regulations, etc.
• Assist in preparation for key events in Detroit and Lakeland including but not limited to the Amateur Draft, MLB Trade Deadline, and the Incoming Drafted Player Mini Camp.
• Travel to each of the Tigers Minor League Affiliates and provide feedback on Tigers players in the form of written reports to the VP of Player Development.
• Assist in the day-to-day logistics of Minor League roster management, including coordinating player travel and reimbursement.
• Attend Player Development Meetings regularly to understand the department's operational procedures and contribute insights on past playing experience.
• Routinely offer insights and feedback to Player Development office staff.
• Address ad hoc requests and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by members of the Baseball Operations Department.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Bachelors degree in Sports Management or similar degree program.
• Prior work experience in professional baseball, collegiate baseball or similar industry
• Must have excellent attention to detail
• Excellent organization skills, with the ability to multi-task
• Proficiency with Microsoft computer applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Outdoor and office environment
• Evening, weekend and holiday hours will be required.
• Travel required
• Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
