Network Broadcast Operations Manager - Based in Atlanta

Job Description

CW Network has an immediate opening for a Network Broadcast Operations Manager in our Network Operations Center located at Encompass Digital Media in Atlanta, Georgia.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager who will be responsible for overseeing efficiencies of our network broadcast operations center. Ideal candidate must demonstrate a deep understanding of broadcast operations, coupled with the ability to maintain quality standards while effectively communicating with stakeholders across various levels, including operators, vendors and executives.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be an onsite liaison between our service provider, Encompass and CW Network ownership. Position will work with Encompass management and CW ownership to ensure broadcast operating systems, equipment and personnel in the master control operation within the CW Network broadcast facility are executing at the highest level but will not directly manage Encompass personnel. Candidate will work with daily program schedules and be hyper-focused on workflow specific to LIVE Sports and other Live programming the network showcases or is provided. Candidate will support other operations as needed within CW Affiliate relations. In addition position will:
• Ensure quality control standards of distribution are consistently met while adhering to company guidelines and FCC rules.
• Develop and implement operational procedures tailored to optimize efficiency and quality in programming, ensuring seamless execution of broadcasts.
• Maintain excellence with judgement and contingency planning while anticipating issues and engaging support when needed.
• Possess excellent problem-solving skills and troubleshooting capabilities with required communication to establish results that are solutions based.
• Use a combination of both IT and broadcast operational skills.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Network Broadcast Operations Manager is responsible for Atlanta national network feeds and will work with remote studio/field operations and affiliates that may be experiencing technical difficulties. Must also possess a working knowledge of ancillary on-air equipment such as satellite uplinks, character generators, Emergency Alerts, caption encoders, routers, switchers and various networked workstations.

Qualifications
• Ten years of experience of broadcast operations in a professional live media operation environment required.
• Experience with Florical (preferred) or other broadcast automation systems.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with timings and transmission coordination, particularly during live broadcasts and sporting events.
• Experience in broadcast operations, with a minimum of 5 years management or supervisory role.
• Working knowledge of common business software applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Position requires flexibility in schedule and could include evenings, weekends and holidays as well as some limited travel.
• Must be self-sufficient and have a lean-in, press-on-regardless attitude.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
