Position: Technical Animator/Rigger (Temporary)
Location: Vancouver, BC – Remote
*Pay Range: $26.00 - $47.00 CAD hourly
Method's Real-Time division is looking for an experienced Technical Animator & Rigger to join our Vancouver team.
MAIN DUTIES:
• Work with the CG Supervisor, Rigging, Animation, and Modeling Leads to provide creative iterative problem solving.
• Create, maintain, test, and debug animation tools and pipelines.
• You will ensure art content and features are easily integrated and aligned with our artistic vision, while also considering technical constraints.
• Identify problems and guide the team toward better workflows through automation and tools.
• Conduct communications between artists and dev team to optimize workflow.
• Work with the Real-time team implementing the rigs and rigging the assets;
• Design efficient rigs appropriate to the production's needs;
• Design, test and maintain character set ups;
WHAT YOU BRING:
The successful candidate will bring prior experience from a similar role. They will be experienced in working within Unreal or equivalent real-time engine. They will have proven experience with animation implementation in games or film, and knowledge of animation retargeting and sharing. Additional desired skills include:
• Software: Maya, Unreal or equivalent game engine, Motionbuilder (bonus)
• Programming: Python, Maya API, Motionbuilder API (bonus)
• Demonstrated ability working with strict deadlines and under pressure.
• Ability to take direction and find creative solutions during the iterative process.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Understanding of movement of limbs, the effect of weight, and the behavior of skin and flesh;
• A positive team-oriented mindset.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and be able to work without micromanagement.
• Knowledge of Motionbuilder API, Shotgrid, Substance Design & Painter is an asset.
