The Job

This role will have responsibility and oversight of the international commercial activities for CNN's direct-to-consumer product, CNN+. This leader will be a key advisor to the GM, CNN+ and the CNN Digital leadership team on CNN+'s overall international strategy, individual market strategy, and go-to-market planning and execution.

The Daily
• Manage the service in all international territories, aligning cross-functional teams toward shared KPIs, goals and prioritizations.
• At the direction of the GM, CNN+, oversee the P&L management of the international business including budgets, reporting, and resource planning.
• Responsible for customer acquisition, retention, and reduction of churn in international territories.
• For international expressions of the CNN+ product, directly oversee functions related to driving effective subscriber growth, including:
• Performance Marketing & Growth Marketing (all non-Brand or non-Creative teams)
• International versioning for marketing assets
• Local 3rd-party vendors
• In-region marketing partnerships
• In-region agency oversight
• Partner with CNN Worldwide and WarnerMedia leadership on the development and execution of strategic partnerships, including Telcos, MVPDs, and Global Platforms
• Support development of content and programming strategy in international territories, as well as execution of local content strategy including licensing and acquisitions.
• Be the internal advocate for the international point of view across cross-functional domestic counterparts, especially Content, Product, and Growth teams.
• Work tightly with domestic counterparts to ensure alignment on prioritization, timing, and execution.

The Essentials
• 10+ years of previous senior-level management with a proven track record in overseeing growth in international subscription businesses.
• Previous experience in an SVOD or media/entertainment environment a plus.
• Strong international commercial background.
• Deep knowledge of content-driven commercial businesses internationally.
• Passionate about consumer trends in media and entertainment, with a sophisticated understanding of international competitive trends.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the customer lifecycle journey and churn management.
• Existing relationships in key international territories with major telco distributors.
• Experience building, developing, and leading a geographically and culturally diverse team in a multi-regional environment.
• Creative business thinker with strong problem-solving skills who is able to generate options, build consensus, and bring issues to closure and opportunities to fruition.
