Job Description
The Senior Manager of Program & Content Research, CNN will work closely with the Director of Program & Content Research to lead a team that works collaboratively with program and content development, strategy and scheduling teams supporting CNN TV. This team will provide ongoing, relevant insights on CNN content through custom analytics, primary research and timely reporting. Furthermore, the manager will help guide and develop analysts on the team to provide actionable programming insights

The Daily
• Conduct linear content research and analysis including: primary research, ad-hoc deep dives and regular reporting
• Work closely with Research & Analytics data science team to implement new dashboards and further develop automated reporting
• Partner with the CNN content strategy team on programming, windowing and drop strategies
• Shepard primary program testing related to CNN content from start to finish in collaboration with Director
• Regularly assess competitive networks and conduct deep dive analyses into programming and audiences
• Help lead cross-platform measurement and analysis in partnership with other internal teams
• Work with Director and other Programming & Content Managers in producing talent research, including regular quarterly reports and ad-hoc analysis
• Build fruitful relationships with key stakeholders/business partners across program/content development, content strategy and scheduling
• Foster a positive work environment and collaborative atmosphere
• Train, mentor and supervise 1-2 research analysts on the team

The Essentials
• 7+ years of research experience at a linear network or audience measurement company preferred
• 2+ years of people management experience within an organization
• Demonstrated knowledge of the content creation business and the non-fiction landscape
• Experience developing automated dashboards with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, Excel is preferred; experience regularly using SQL or R a plus
• Proven experience delivering insights to executives or stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and a commitment to developing team members
• Proven experience of successful collaborations with other research and data science teams
• Able to work independently and communicate effectively
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities
• Experience managing qualitative research preferred
• Bachelor's degree required. Media, research, marketing or business focus a plus
