Role Details:

As ComicBook.com continues to grow, so does the need for additional creative talent. In your role as Video Podcast Producer, your job is to cultivate and lead the creative of our existing and in-development podcasting slate. We are looking for someone who is passionate about geek genres in all forms, with knowledge not limited to TV shows, movies, games, and pop culture. You will be charged with exploring and developing new formats, executing new creative strategies, and helping to create, build and evolve the ComicBook brand in the podcast and video space.

As part of a dynamic, fast-paced environment, you will work with other video editors, production personnel, and talent to deliver a robust video & audio offering across a number of distribution platforms (with a focus on YouTube, Twitch & social). You will be part of the key team setting the agenda for the future of audio/video programming around the ComicBook

brand. In addition, the successful candidate should be an experienced digital creative with the ability to lead development in the context of the larger expansion of our digital editorial capacity.

Finally, your development of video should be directly related to the need to grow the audience and find, engage and activate users to the ComicBook brand.

Your Day-to-Day:
Own the expansion of the ComicBook podcasting/video slate, in collaboration with ComicBook leadership;

Work collaboratively with a production team, including hosts, producers, and editors across all ComicBook podcasts (both existing and new);

Provide guidance on story/topic/guest selection;

Facilitate regular evaluation and feedback on shows' creative direction and execution;

Set and plan long-range editorial calendar;

Work with members of the video & social team on audience engagement, growth, and marketing;

Work with the production team on show and talent budget, evaluating and iterating as necessary to meet financial goals;

The position requires proficiency with YouTube, and knowledge of social media platforms - including, but not limited to - Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat, and Instagram.

You must have the ability to take segments of the shows and turn them into a web video that can generate engagement on social platforms.

The Producer will be required to generate original content, write copy, and edit videos that meet ComicBook standards.

The ideal candidate is a team player with exceptional organizational skills, is detail-oriented, and has the ability to both multi-task and keep a calm head under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.

This position may include evening hours and may include some early morning and

weekend responsibilities.

Qualifications:

What you bring to the team:

You have -

Bachelor's Degree

Proven creative excellence in developing editorial video content, podcasts, and supporting assets

3-5 years production experience at a media organization and or creative agency

Strong editorial and news judgment;

Strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to delegate and prioritize optimally across multiple projects;

Ability to oversee and structure a relevant, compelling, and unique video story;

Can work independently and in a team environment;

Experience developing, executing, and leading an efficient production schedule;

A knack for delivering clear, conscientious feedback on both stories, performance, and overall execution;

A sense of humor and strong work ethic;

You might also have -

Experience video editing with Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop and/or Avid software

Experience using team collaboration platforms like Asana or JIRA

Proficiency in G Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Groups, Chat) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
