RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead editorial content in the server; responsible for determining what news material should be archived and what should be deleted.
• Coordinate daily news department digital media intake records.
• Assign and handle packages and headlines for editing across all crews in the field and in the building.
• Design and implement systems for tape acquisition and disbursement.
• Lead web-based archival system.
• Provide assistance for archival and retrieval search requests.
• Supply input and support for systems upgrades due to technological advancements.
• Work directly with senior news management including News Director to investigate on-air problems including technical malfunctions and mistakes caused by human error.
• Candidate should demonstrate knowledge and experience with all aspects of ENG news coverage, including broadcast quality cameras, and microwave transmissions.
• Ability to work directly with non-linear systems.
• Strata system database management experience preferred.
• INews experienced a plus.
• Work directly with News Managers.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of experience in a major market news department.
• Non-linear news editing experience is required.
• Prior news management (editorial/operations) preferred.
• Familiarity with INews, Grass Valley non-linear edit, and Adobe Premier systems is desirable.
