IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST – BROADCAST OPERATIONS
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the IT Manager and Broadcast Operations teams to maintain and support the station's technical infrastructure
• Provide timely technical support to a fast-paced, high-demand newsroom environment, both in-person and remotely
• Set up, image, and deploy new workstations with standardized configurations and software
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktop systems, printers, mobile devices, and network connectivity
• Perform regular updates, patch management, and preventative maintenance for Windows, Mac and Linux systems
• Support newsroom technology including editorial systems, media servers, control room equipment, and file-based workflows
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation for IT systems, hardware inventory, and procedures
• Identify and recommend improvements to IT workflows and operational processes
• Manage office and server room cabling, hardware installations, and equipment moves
• Provide support for multifunction devices (printers/copiers/faxes) and coordinate vendor service when needed
• Assist in the setup and deployment of switches, routers, and firewalls
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in IT or related field preferred
• At least 2 years of experience in IT support or help desk roles
• Proficiency in imaging, deploying, and supporting Windows (7–11) workstations
• Familiarity with Linux distributions (RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS) Mac OS and Windows Server
• Experience with Active Directory, group policy, file shares, and antivirus management
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
• Experience with virtualization (VxRail, Hyper-V, or VMware) a plus
• Proficiency in standard office software (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Visio, etc.)
• Good communication and troubleshooting skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Prior years of experience in a broadcast, news, or media production environment
• Familiarity with newsroom computer systems (NRCS), video editing tools, or asset management systems
• IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs
• Flexible schedule with availability for evening or weekend work as needed
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work in high-pressure fast paced environments

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $100,000.00 - 115,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
