Overview Responsibilities:
Television City at MGM Grand is looking for a Systems Technician to support our research testing facility and online operations in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Systems Technician should be a highly motivated self starter who can effectively operate equipment and troubleshoot routine and complex system malfunctions.
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, operate, maintain & troubleshoot systems and equipment such as:
• Video server operation and displays
• Non-liner video editing (Adobe Premiere and CC products)
• Audio / video software & hardware encoders, & digital recording.
• Wired and wireless microphones & ear pieces
• Audio amplifiers & speakers
• Online Live streaming (Kaltura, Azure Media Services)
• Creating surveys from questionnaires, supporting and maintaining studies in field through survey platforms and internal systems.
• Desktop workstation support and maintenance (Win10, MacOSX and Linux)
• Using and configuring various mobile devices is highly specific ways for research testing (IOS, Android, FireOS and others)
• Audio & Video matrix routers and cabling
• Teleconferencing equipment and software (Supporting end users. Schedule rooms and sessions. Setting up and tested prior to meetings).
• Networking Equipment (switches, routers, access points, I/O patch panels and cabling)
• Crestron automation systems (CP3, CP2 controllers & touch panels)
• Pulling, terminating cable & soldering connecters
• Possess an ability to understand and troubleshoot complex network environments for troubleshooting, installing and repairing systems. You will be required to work closely with the IT & Security departments on many systems and projects.
• Have the ability to lift in excess of 100 lbs. and be comfortable working at heights on a ladder and extremely confined spaces.
• Ability to Read and update complex wiring schematics and assist with design & modification of systems as we grow.
• Maintain the quality and content of public and internal video displays.
• Maintain the facility, perform repairs and address safety concerns.
• Furniture/fixture repairs (Example: chairs and desks, Laminated surfaces, minor carpet repair)
• Painting, replacing outlets and light switches. fixing drywall and flooring. Replacing lights, climbing into tight spaces in ceiling or walls to replace HVAC filters and/or inspect/clean equipment.
• Work with hotel maintenance staff for other repairs as needed.
• Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Word)
• Windows, Mac OSX & Linux Desktop operating systems.
• Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Premiere, Media Encoder, Encore, Photoshop, Illustrator and others)
• Visual Studio / Visual Studio Code
Basic Qualifications
• 3-5 years of experience in the technical maintenance field.
• Knowledge of Crestron Systems & equipment is desired.
• Ability to multitask and complete projects independently with little instruction or supervision.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor at all times.
• We want candidates that communicate very detailed and specific information to quickly bring the next shift up to speed on projects and day to day operations!
• Must be able to assist Clients and internal staff with any issue they may have while in the facility.
Additional Qualifications
• A good understanding of computer programming in relation to web development and custom API cross platform communications is desired. Being familiar with JavaScript, C#, HTML, JSON with Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code is a plus.
