Job Description
OverviewCBS Photography in Los Angeles is looking for a highly motivated creative with a passion for storytelling to oversee producing photography on a variety of shows. This Photo Publicist will develop and maintain a diverse network of photography vendors in various markets. They should have a savvy aesthetic, keeping a thumb on visual trends. Ability to conceptualize with a variety of budgets and genres. Thorough understanding of the technical aspects of photography and editing. With a strong desire to constantly refine and improve the process and final product, creating imagery that's impactful and on brand.
Responsibilities
• Read scripts and assess schedules for various show assignments, provide suggested photo coverage days to publicity teams
• Convey episodic coverage to shows and create assignments for photographers
• Manage relationships with photographers working in the field, maintain regular communication with them, and troubleshoot any on-set issues
• Produce shoots for Marketing, Publicity, Corporate Initiatives, 3rd parties and CBSTV Studios
• Own all facets of the shoot, including hiring photographers, selecting locations, negotiating fees and balancing the needs of various partners
• Maintain workflow of paperwork for onboarding vendors, billing, photo assignments and calendars
• Work collaboratively on creative direction of show photography with Executive Producers, Marketing and Photographers
• Work with legal on clearances, contract execution, and talent approvals
• Editing for a portion of shows and special events required
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Photography, Art, or related field
• 5 years of experience producing, ideally within entertainment
Additional Qualifications
• High level understanding of quality output in terms of composition, color and retouching
• Extensive network of photo vendors with demonstrated ability in building strong, mutually beneficial partnerships
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites and Microsoft Office
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail, organized and savvy with time management
• Proven ability to manage high volumes of work. Demonstrated prioritization, planning and task delegation under tight deadlines
• Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of Local 600 and 667 union rules and guidelines a plus
