The CBS Media Ventures Digital (CMV) group at CBS Interactive creates digital / video focused desktop, mobile, and app experiences, managing digital and social for first-run television syndication brands including Star Trek, Dabl, Entertainment Tonight and ET Live, Inside Edition, Rachael Ray, The Doctors, and The Drew Barrymore Show.

Role Details:

The CBS Interactive team is looking for an expert Quality Assurance Engineer to help define and execute comprehensive test plans for our web sites, mobile web, and production media applications. As a member of our core development team, our QA Engineer should be comfortable designing effective and iterative test plans in collaboration with our product, engineering, project management and operations leads.

Your Day-to-Day:
• Build and execute test cases for CBSi web sites, media applications, delivery frameworks and production applications to ensure products are scalable and robust while still being easy to use and navigate.
• Plan, execute, and report on QA tests of core application software, bug fixes, and new enhancements.
• Help prioritize incoming issues and document steps to reproduce, as well as observed and expected system behavior.
• Actively participate in daily standups and sprint planning, with an emphasis on optimizing testing cycles/resources with development teams to deliver shippable features.
• Design and implement black box test plans for web sites and mobile apps.
• Additional other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

What you bring to the team:

You have -
• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field; or 4 years equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years' experience testing web-based and mobile software in an agile environment.
• Knowledge of SDLC and QA methodologies.
• 1+ year of experience creating and running automated regression tests.
• 2+ years' experience using CI/CD tools like Jenkins or Bamboo.
• 2+ years' experience with desktop and mobile device testing.
• 1+ year experience with test management tools like TestRail.
• 1+ year experience with project management/bug tracking tools like Jira.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• 1+ year of experience debugging web pages using Chrome dev tools.
• 2+ years' experience testing web-based and mobile software in an agile environment.
• Ability and temperament to create and execute thorough test cases in an agile environment with multiple projects and products.

You might also have -
• Charles Proxy experience
• Familiarity with media content management systems like Drupal and WordPress
• Fluency in SQL and/or basic shell scripting
