The Role
BuzzFeed Video is searching for a Supervising Producer of Editorial Production to bring organizational skills and inspiring leadership to our production team. We are looking for an experienced and passionate self-starter that can work with all departments within Branded Video.
You will be based in our Los Angeles office, a super collaborative work environment.
You Will
• Oversee the production process across the various Editorial video products and teams
• Oversee multiple, simultaneous productions and timelines
• Troubleshoot and collaborate on creative solutions to pre-production, filming, and or internal cross-departmental issues as they arise
• Track & vet all related budgets, production plans, and wrap books
• Ensure the sourcing and hiring of diverse and inclusive crew and staff positions
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with Operational and Creative leads on all production issues and processes
• Collaborate to improve upon production resources, process, and responsibilities; including, but not limited to, anticipate future department growth needs and follow up with appropriate strategy and execution
• Line Produce as needed for specific productions
• Manage, train and develop Managing Producers & Production Managers; create structured learning and growth plan for direct reports
• Lead the Editorial Production team to accomplish quarterly goals and reporting
• Interface as a main point of contact for daily operations between creatives, accounting, pricing, post production, studio operations, casting, legal, client services, including Project Managers, CSMs and Sales as needed.
• Effectively communicate policies and procedures to freelance crew and production staff while ensuring follow through is correct
• Keep Associate Director of Production Ops apprised of potential issues concerning direct reports, team concerns, production, and budgets statuses
• Attend and actively participate in management training sessions set up by the BF Learning Team. Work with direct reports to share your learnings to develop and grow team members' skill sets.
• Mastered understanding of backend systems used to track projects and ensure Producers are following processes.
• Lead process documentation maintenance and system development.
You Have
• 5+ years of producing and management experience
• Embody a philosophy of finding creative solutions and efficiencies regarding budget, scheduling, logistics, etc.
• Have knowledge of industry standards regarding average crew rates, rental rates etc.
• Experience with permitting, releases etc.
• Highly organized and a polished/timely written and verbal communicator
• Prioritization is essential, appropriately delegate and be a team player
• Willingness to learn
• Prior people management experience
• Prior branded content experience
• Must exhibit personal and professional high standards of integrity and ethics
• Experience with injury/safety protocol and prevention
• Proficient in Movie Magic Budgeting & Scheduling and Google Drive
