Expression of Interest - Pipeline Supervisor (Unreal Engine)
BRON Digital, is a state-of-the-art virtual production and service company, that utilizes the Unreal Engine to develop and produce long-form animation for series television, short-form content, and motion pictures. This division leverages BRON's extensive experience producing traditional CGI animation to apply and adapt the best practices of linear animation pipelines and marry those with Unreal Engine centered, virtual production workflows. The move allows BRON to broaden and expand its production and produce high quality content with much faster turnarounds.
As we are ramping up for our third BRON Digital animated series, BRON Digital is currently searching for a Pipeline Supervisor with proven experience working with the Unreal Engine to lead the Pipeline Department. The Pipeline Supervisor works with the Pipeline team to develop software and strategies to increase efficiency in studio production through gathering requirements, planning, scope, risk assessment, dependencies, and reporting. While keeping a broad perspective and future thinking, the Pipeline Supervisor is also able to provide direction for day-to-day studio pipeline matters, managing inter-departmental expectations while balancing priorities and being nimble, changing course with changing priorities.
This position is fully remote yet candidates must be based and be able to legally work in either USA or Canada.
Requirements:
Role & Responsibilities
• Works with studio leadership to determine requirements for current and upcoming projects.
• Research technology and development trends to ensure the company is state of the art.
• Oversees technical briefs and code review standards and ensures best practices.
• Oversees Pipeline documentation and studio training including tutorials for artists.
• Completes performance reviews of team members and recommends their growth strategy.
• Leads team daily scrum meetings and regularly scheduled department and production meetings.
• Leads team recruiting including resume reviews, interviews, evaluations, job descriptions, etc.
• Partners with the Management team to identify priorities and schedule tasks.
• Oversees UE workflow based and interactive integration design elements to current and future workflows.
• Oversees and liaises about strategic plans and milestones for UE based workflows and interactive designs
• Liaises with production teams to help achieve project milestones
• Assists with other related production tasks at the discretion of Producer.
• Perform other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned in the future.
Qualifications
• BA in Computer Science, or equivalent
• 10+ years experience in software development
• 2 + years in a leadership role
• Experience working in Unreal
• Experience coding in Python
• Previous experience working with Blueprints and C++ in Unreal Engine highly preferred
• Knowledge of DCC software and computer languages
• Experienced team leader, including mentoring and performance assessment
• Ability to understand situations quickly and shift priorities as needed
• Experienced with user interface design in QT/PyQT
• Experienced working in the Windows OS and Linux
• Understanding of scheduling, task estimates and capacity planning
• Strong written & verbal communication skills
