Job Description
Leads product management functions for key product initiatives at BMI, including core Distribution Platform, Online Services, or Licensing. Manages product strategy, requirements, and implementation, and serves as the central coordination function between commercial/sales needs and product development. Leads a team of product managers and technical product managers and focuses on technical implementation, customer-interfaces, and building financial business cases for all development activities.
LOCATION
Nashville, TN office. BMI has transitioned back to working in the office on a regular hybrid schedule. At present, most team members are expected in the office three (3) days a week. Decisions regarding future transitions will take place in phases as BMI continues to closely monitor COVID-19 as employee safety is our priority.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
• Promotes and implements the initiatives of and technologies utilized by BMI.
• Manages projects, leads technical project teams and coordinates project activities with external teams.
• Analyzes needs from the business teams and develops those into a product strategy and requirements.
• Develops product requirements and helps Technical Product Managers generate user stories, by which engineering implements those requirements.
• Creates, owns, and modifies the Product Roadmap of all engineering deliverables for the year.
• Serves as the ''voice of the customer'' in the technology organization and prioritizes customer needs against development resources.
• Develops a Profit & Loss for the associated product areas.
• Supports the commercial organizations in presentations, materials, and customer meetings.
• Support BMI core values and cultivate a culture of diversity and inclusion
• Regular in-office attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. Music industry experience preferred.
Experience: Enterprise Application development with significant project leadership responsibilities. Minimum years of experience required based on level of role: Director: 3 years; Sr. Director: 5 years; Exec. Director: 7 years
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Knowledge of key operating systems and Cloud environments
• Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office.
• Highest level of confidentiality.
• Ability to establish a constructive and informative relationship with employees, management and vendors.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and technical manuals.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
• Ability to anticipate and solve problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

SALARY RANGE
The specific base salary offered to a successful applicant will be based on individual qualifications, skills, experience, and education. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. The position may also be eligible for one or more performance-based bonuses.
