Job Description

Provides business intelligence, quality assurance, and overall technical support for the quarterly performance identification production cycle. Deploys technical skills related to the performance identification discipline. Increase overall knowledge base of organization's data assets and technologies.

LOCATION
Nashville, TN office. BMI has transitioned back to working in the office on a regular hybrid schedule. At present, most team members are expected in the office three (3) days a week. Decisions regarding future transitions will take place in phases as BMI continues to closely monitor COVID-19 as employee safety is our priority

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
• Schedules, executes, and applies the results of an established suite of supplementary auto-identification scripts that support BMI's audio performance identification objectives. Analyzes the results to identify potential algorithmic refinements, new approaches that could increase yield and attain overall higher ID rates.
• Executes established market-specific workflows powered by customized applications that assist in the cleansing, formatting, and extraction of usage for downstream identification and distribution. Assesses opportunities for reengineering processes in newer technologies.
• Generates and delivers, to the relevant stakeholders, various reports that mine non-identification related data assets in order to assess identification priorities. These data assets include charting works information, pending work registrations, and 3rd party data.
• Collaborates with departmental management to coordinate execution of technical tasks related to quarterly close processes, both within the department and the IT department. Assists in troubleshooting as needed.
• Maintains best practices as learned from continuous training on systems, procedures and decision-making. Updates and creates new Standard Operating Procedures documentation.
• Partners with the IT department to coordinate the ingestion of production and analytical data received from licensees and data vendors.
• Conducts offline ad-hoc data cleansing and formatting for new or non-compliant sources whose music use information is not ready for identification and distribution.
• Maintains BMI's Digital Audio Distribution Dashboard (DADD) to identify trends in consumption and identification rates. Works with Senior Data Analysts to evolve as the business developments require.
• Generates and analyzes established KPI reports for all key non-digital markets including terrestrial radio, live concert, airlines, and commercial background music services.
• Synthesizes, summarizes, and communicates findings to departmental leadership to aid in prioritization and resource planning efforts.
• Executes established QA routines and analyzes the results to detect variances and deviations that are indicative of processing or data quality issues.
• Collaborates with supervisor, departmental leadership, and the larger Analytics team to develop new quality assurance reports that aid in the attainment of higher levels of accuracy and efficiency.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
Experience: One (1) to two (2) years related experience or familiarity with an operational/processing role preferred. Knowledge of music industry or active participation in the music community highly preferred.

SALARY RANGE
The specific base salary offered to a successful applicant will be based on individual qualifications, skills, experience, and education. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. The position may also be eligible for one or more performance-based bonuses.
