Freelance Designer, Creative Services

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Big Ten Network (BTN) is seeking a Freelance Graphic Designer to join their team in Chicago, IL. As the Freelance Graphic Designer, you will conceptualize and execute high end content for the network with a primary focus on linear broadcast needs. You will work closely with both the On-air Promotions and Marketing Departments and Art Department. This position will report to the Creative Service Director.

A SNAPHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work closely with promotions department to develop and produce high-impact In-Game Broadcast promotions)
• Produce linear design elements to be used to elevate all on-air marketing campaigns (promos)
• Be a visual storyteller by creating content that will be used to promote the network and its programming
• Input all executions of in-game marketing elements

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 1-2 years of experience producing both original and repurposed content
• Ability to design and code within Viz Artist, Viz Trio
• An established ability to create and produce compelling content; generate and execute ideas from concept to execution
• Proficiency with technology platforms and graphic design software packages (InDesign, Cinema 4D, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D Software)
• Demonstrated design experience with television, intercollegiate athletics programs or professional sports teams
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to be detail oriented, proactive, and a team player
• Demonstrated ability to meet strategic deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Possess a deep knowledge of Big Ten Athletics
• Familiarity with Big Ten Network's programming, talent, and brand initiatives
• Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
• Bachelor's degree with emphasis on graphic design and motion graphics or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with Adobe Premiere
