Summary:

BET+ is looking for a Manager, Data Science and Analytics who will enable us to drive customer growth and deepen insights of the customer journey through deploying Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence solutions for a Subscription Based Video Streaming product.

Responsibilities:
• Use unsupervised learning tactics to drive ML-based insights across our customer activity base, demonstrating approaches such as k-means clustering!
• Enable us to iterate on orchestration of data science and AI/ML within our personalization and marketing pipelines, developing improvements and enhancements on models for recommendation, leveraging various approaches such as collaborative filtering, decision trees, and neural networks!
• Develop propensity modeling to discover and identify the levers of churn and provide action points for decisioning to empower personalization
• Be a subject matter expert for data within our org, understanding the various sources of data and how we can unify and combine them into feature stores deploying feature engineering techniques to enable scale
• Deepen our statistical insights and analysis across the Customer Journey, using data mining and cleansing approaches that drive deeper understanding of customer behavior, lifetime value, and the flywheel of acquisition and retention
• Develop predictive models to help inform budgeting and forecasting, leveraging techniques such as logistic regression
• Work across senior collaborators to understand key business problems and develop data solutions

Basic Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience or advanced degree: PhD/MS in Technology (data science, computer science, computer engineering, economics, applied math, statistics, engineering or other quantitative field)
• 2 + years Advanced level coding in Python and SQL, preferably with experience working in notebook type environments such as Jupyter, and experience with data processing libraries such as Pandas and NumPy

Additional Qualifications:
• Demonstrated expertise in using data science tactics to drive growth for a D2C and media.
• Experience in building data science products end-to-end, from conception and development to validation and working with engineering teams for deployment.
• Track record of partnership with data engineering, data science, and software engineering teams to build value and deliver product innovation.
• A curious mind, passion, and motivation to learn new skills, tools, and data science techniques necessary to tackle business challenges.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $145,000.00 - 160,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
