Job Description

Barnstorm VFX is seeking a Junior Render Wrangler to join our growing team! The ideal candidate is a skilled multitasker with impeccable attention to detail. The Render Wrangler serves as a crucial part of the Engineering team, ensuring the efficiency of the studio pipeline and Render Farm.

This role is performed on-site at the Barnstorm studio in Burbank, California, and requires weekend availability.

Responsibilities:
• Monitor, manage and maintain the ability of the Render Farm to function at its maximum.
• Maintain and track rendering priorities.
• Plan and communicate effectively with the production team to allocate resources according to project needs.
• Help and support the artists with support requests and errors.
• Manage Studio Emergency calls outside of regular hours on occasion.
• Willingness to work very flexible hours as needed.
• With the help of the R&D team, help to develop tools to support production.

• This role is on-site at the Barnstorm studio in Burbank, CA. Remote applicants will not be considered.

Nice to Have:
• Previous experience at a VFX studio or as a render wrangler
• Experience with scripting (Javascript, Python, REST preferred).
• Knowledge of Linux systems
• Knowledge of queuing systems and scheduling algorithms
• Prior experience with VFX industry tools: Maya, Houdini, Nuke, Arnold, etc.
• Knowledge of TV/Film production processes, and VFX production pipelines
• Experience with AWS, Deadline, and Liscensing servers (UBL, FlexLM, RLM)
• Experience with Shotgrid
