The Baltimore Orioles are seeking an experienced, analytical, and strategic finance leader to serve as Vice President of Finance. This critical role will provide high-level financial oversight, forecasting, and strategic insights to drive organizational performance across all business units. As a key member of the Finance leadership team, the VP of Finance will lead budgeting, long-range planning, cash flow modeling, and scenario analysis, ensuring alignment with the Orioles' strategic vision.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the financial planning and develop a comprehensive understanding of all key business drivers and sophisticated financial models that enable the Finance team to deliver insightful, value-added analysis across the Orioles business.
• Develop and monitor the company's annual budget and monthly forecasts by ensuring all budgets and forecasts are accurate, comprehensive, and completed on time. Additionally, ensure alignment with the organization's strategic goals.
• Provide dynamic financial forecasting capabilities and contribute to the creation of a long-term strategic plan.
• Deliver timely reforecasts and variance analysis to track performance and identify risks/opportunities.
• Prepare monthly reporting packages that include full financial statements, comprehensive Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting, operational Dashboard reporting, analysis of key business trends, actual versus budget variances and comprehensive executive level explanations of differences.
• Build an in-depth understanding of all lines of the Oriole's business and analyze key drivers for each, to be able to identify efficiencies and provide recommendations to improve results – either enhanced revenues or cost savings – across departments.
• Develop models to support decisions on ticket pricing, sponsorship revenue, capital projects, player payroll scenarios, and other high-impact initiatives.
• Provide financial modeling, financial analysis and valuation support for capital projects, long-term contracts and other ad-hoc financial projects.
• Assist in preparing analysis, commentary, and presentation material for the monthly and quarterly financial review meetings.
• Collaborate with Accounting in the evaluation and implementation of a financial reporting system to replace current tools, driving automation, and data accuracy.
• Optimize use of financial systems (e.g., ERP, budgeting, BI tools) for planning and reporting.
• Ability to translate financial metrics to digestible story telling appropriate for executive level management.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive financial experience, including 3–5 years in a senior FP&A or finance leadership role.
• Extensive Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP and planning tools
• Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in sports, entertainment, media, or hospitality, a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and collaborate across departments.

The anticipated salary for this role is $210,000-$225,000 annually depending on experience.
