The Position:
We are currently seeking an experienced Transmission and Digital Operations Center (DOC) Support Engineer to join our team in Atlanta, GA. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operations and Transmission, this position will manage the day-to-day support of Diamond Sports Group nationwide video network, game broadcast transmission, associated networking, audio/video hardware and digital operations support.

The Game Plan:
(What you will do)
• Expert level knowledge of routing and switching concepts and technologies.
• Oversee existing architecture renovations and updates. Work with Diamond Sports Group Video Network vendors to define software updates and upgrades.
• Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
• Interact with Diamond Sports Group video network vendors to resolve issues, escalations, maintenance, and overall performance.
• Assist and help create SOPs for all transmission technologies activities, including audio/video and communications check-in, QC process for remotes, and outgoing transmission, including linear broadcast as well as digital stream creation.
• Create and develop preventative system maintenance plans, problems resolution check list, and system for tracking transmission logs.
• Maintain and updates flypack transmission units sent to remote venues.
• Identify replacement parts for repair work on Diamond Sports Group gear.
• Test and evaluate Diamond Sports Group transmission equipment and create RMA's for repair work, as necessary.
• Manage system tools in DOC for signal monitoring and as run logs for QC and troubleshooting.

The Stats:
(What to bring)
• 5+ years' experience in broadcast engineering and operations.
• Knowledge of fiber optic technologies and coax transport, video encoding codecs, multicast, and plant routing systems.
• Expertise in network routing/switching, firewalls, DNS, VoIP, and unified communications.
• Familiarity with SCTE Automation
• Familiarity with Slack and Teams for communication with RSN and MU Engineering
• Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
• Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of Engineering as well as outside the organization.
• Ability to create and comprehend signal flow documents (CAD) as well as systems level troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage highly technical operations teams while interfacing with Engineering, Operations, Production, and third-party vendors.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well under the pressures of ''live'' television.
• Ability to prepare and deliver written and oral communications of complex matters.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and peak periods.
• On-call engineering support required.
• Must be able to work nights and weekends.
• Sports background a plus.
