Bally Sports Ohio is Manager, Production Operations! This position is responsible for ensuring that mobile units, equipment, transmission, crew and studio operations for all Bally Sports Ohio productions are in place with an emphasis on vendor relationships, quality, and cost.
Responsibilities:
• Maintains vendor relationships and communicates with various mobile unit operators to provide facilities and crew for each event
• Distributes paperwork as needed
• Manages and coordinates the operational and logistical issues involved in all remote productions
• Supervises studio operations which include overseeing, scheduling, operational issues and set construction
• Supervision of this area also includes overseeing of scheduling on all editing and field acquisition equipment
• Supervision and scheduling of any required health care officers, such as COVID screeners
• Purchases items such as drives, tapes, mic flags, studio supplies
• Coordinates with Chief Engineer for scheduling preventative and routine maintenance
• Reviews invoices received from vendors to ensure compliance with their original bids
• Assists Finance Dept in processing invoices for vendors and suppliers as well as cross-charging other RSNs
• Responsible for booking the transmission orders for all Bally Sports Ohio produced events
• Collaborates with Chief Engineer in recommending equipment purchases
Requirements and Qualifications:
• A minimum of 3-5 years experience is required
• Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Television Production or related field, or equivalent work experience required
• Working knowledge and understanding of latest techniques in studio, field, and remote television production and operations is mandatory
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed
• Must possess strong organizational skills and be detail oriented
• Must have strong negotiation skills with vendors and ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors and freelance personnel
• Ability to work effectively in a high pressure environment without direct supervision is essential
• Familiarity and understanding of television production jargon is essential for effective communications
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook is needed
• Must be able to lift and transport production gear to and from remote productions
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Previous work experience in live sports production preferred
• Familiarity with production equipment (i.e. editors, switchers, audio consoles, lighting boards, replay systems, cameras, etc.)
• Knowledge or experience with courier shipping procedures and regulations preferred
• Experience in sourcing and procuring production goods and services preferred
• Knowledge or experience in crewing live and remote productions preferred
