Job Description
Bally Sports North/Bally Sports Wisconsin is seeking a Manager of Communications. This role will be responsible for leading strategic communications and publicity initiatives for both regional sports networks and will play an integral role in the brand positioning of the networks. The position requires clear and timely communication of content and/or business initiatives focused on live sports, original programming, team partnerships, ad sales, ratings, executive positioning, and community relations. This role will serve as a main point of contact for all communications related priorities and is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as the communications liaison with trade and consumer media outlets, team partners and fans
• Collaborate daily with the networks' department heads and key production personnel
• Draft and distribute press materials; including press releases, media alerts, talent bios, internal memos, respond to/direct media inquiries, etc.
• Help drive and coordinate internal communications initiatives, including all-staff meetings, weekly highlights, recaps and more
• Work closely with Digital Content Manager, Sr. Marketing Coordinator and Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications to support the network's overall social media, direct-to-consumer, gamification, and programming strategies.
• Utilize social media daily to enhance reach of messaging and digital voice; oversee the network's LinkedIn page and develop relevant content and headlines
• Maintain the region's press kit/timeline as well as media relations archives of releases, images, talent bios, media contacts, earned media, etc.
• Work together with team partner counterparts to disseminate timely information, execute joint initiatives, and drive priorities
• Track and analyze program ratings for media placements as well communicate ratings to team partners
• Work with department heads to lead Community Relations initiatives

Requirements and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or educational equivalent required, plus a minimum of 4-5 years of professional experience working in communication/PR-related roles.
• Knowledge and/or experience in live sports, news and/or agency environment strongly preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required and an exceptional eye for detail.
• Demonstrated ability to write press materials and pitch press.
• Deep knowledge of Minnesota and Wisconsin's sports teams.
• Strong local print and digital press contacts across sports/business/entertainment.
• Experience working with multiple groups to compile and push storylines/narratives.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
• Strong sensibilities to create the right PR messages and serve as a brand ambassador to both networks.
• Dynamic personality with proven ability to develop and maintain successful business relationships.
• Complementary blend of both traditional and digital media expertise, with the ability to exercise either or both as needed when targeting consumer-facing and/or trade media.
• Deep understanding of the power of communication through public relations and be comfortable with evangelizing the RSNs to a wide range of constituents, including fans, media, and team partners.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a live, fast-paced environment.
• Experience with multiple social media platforms preferred

Preferred:
• Previous communications experience in a television/sports role or related industry experience
• Strong organizational and project management skills are preferred, as is a working knowledge of sports including college MLB, NHL, NHL, football, basketball, and soccer
• Exceptional communications skills

Physical Demands

Typical functions required in an office space – heavy use of computer and phone. May be required to lift boxes weighing up to 25lbs on occasion.
