Job Description
Bally Sports is looking for a proactive, take-charge Chief Engineer that can manage the procedures and standards for technical system design and maintenance of Bally Sports South and Southeast.

The Chief Engineer is to be responsible for all engineering functions supporting live studio production, live broadcast events, post-production, and equipment maintenance and provides professional engineering leadership. The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of analog, digital, and IP technologies as used in a broadcast environment, and a complete understanding of IT networks, broadcast equipment, live sports production technology, and operations.

Responsibilities
• Lead a team consisting of a full-time engineer and several freelance engineers to provide support for live studio production.
• Identify systems requiring upgrades and maintenance and schedule downtime around production calendar.
• Plan and execute capital expenditures under guidance from VP, Engineering.
• In coordination with Director, Production Operations, manage equipment, maintenance, and freelance engineering operating budgets.
• Stay current with emerging television technology, testing and suggesting enhancements to studio and remote production.
• Work closely with remote production to ensure technical needs are met at Truist Park, State Farm Arena, and outer market venues.
• Generate and maintain system drawings according to standards.
• Maintain studio production equipment, non-linear editing equipment, and Bally-owned remote equipment.
• Provide support and training for operations and engineering staff.
• Ability to work flexible hours and weekends/holidays will be required.

Qualifications/Requirements
• Associates Degree required; BS in Engineering is highly preferred.
• Experience leading engineering teams is preferred.
• 4 years' experience in TV or sports broadcast engineering, including studio, live sports remote production as well as repairing broadcast equipment
• Proficiency in the use of broadcast related test equipment is required.
• Experience in Avid systems maintenance (Media Composer, ISIS, Interplay) and archiving LTO systems a plus.
• Must be knowledgeable in all areas of technical production and familiar with all production equipment components used within office as well as strong analytical skills
• Ability to work as a team member and communicate clearly to production and management.
• Must have excellent reasoning skills to assist in troubleshooting and ability to read and understand system drawings workflow.
• Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds
