Overview
System administrators (or sysadmin or systems administrator) are responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. They install hardware and software, and participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of their organization. System administrators also actively resolve problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties
• Administrate and support IT technology platforms
• Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot IT systems
• Own escalations of end-user tickets from the IT Support team
• Own user auditing and access level auditing for IT systems
• Maintain, monitor, and administer endpoint management software
• Oversee creation of documentation for IT systems
• Create and document processes and procedures for change requests
• Manage deployment of new systems from design to implementation
• Manage security posture for IT systems
• Leverage IT tools to automate solutions for repetitive tasks
• Manage implementation of various infrastructure projects, such as hardware upgrades and system implementations, from start to completion
• Interact with third-party vendors for support as needed
• Provide support for onsite executive meetings as needed
Qualifications
Skills Requirements
• Experience managing Microsoft infrastructure: Windows Server, Active Directory, MS SQL Server.
• Experience analyzing symptoms for accurate isolation of user and network problems
• Computer/networking systems planning skills.
• Ability to install and maintain personal computers, and networks.
• Knowledge of current technological developments in area of expertise.
• Be an excellent communicator and have the ability to multi-task
• Certifications a plus
