Sports Anchor
Overview
Audacy, Cleveland is looking for a part time, Sports Anchor and occasional fill-in talk show host. All candidates must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work on nights, holidays and weekends. This position also calls for periodic web writing.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
• Anchoring multi-hour news shifts on all sports stations.
• Gathering, writing, recording, editing and delivering content from the studio or at sporting events.
• Writing scripts and ad-libbing material for stories.
• Development and research of potential news stories.
• Protecting the station's FCC license.
• Other duties as required by management.
Qualifications
Required:
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, and have the ability to fully utilize all the tools of broadcast and social media in the field (Twitter, Facebook, live and recorded video and audio equipment, etc.)
• Position requires proficiency or aptitude in editing and packaging news sound and interviews.
• Position requires contemporary sound and excellent on-air delivery.
• Knowledge of the broadcast area and station demographics is essential.
Preferred:
• 4 year degree in journalism preferred but not required
• 1+ years anchoring or reporting news for broadcast media and possess excellent writing skills.
