Overview
The radio home of the Cleveland Browns (92.3 The Fan - WKRK/Audacy) is looking for the next talk host to join the sports talk leader in Cleveland as part of a top-ranked broadcast team. This person should love sports, be able to relate to the sports fans and culture of Cleveland and evolve with changing technology to create great programming both on and off the air including our social media channels.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
• Perform live broadcasts in studio and on remote locations when necessary (including Browns game days) that are entertaining and informative. These shows can include extra hours for breaking news or special coverage.
• Communicate daily with producers and brand manager to ensure program goals are met.
• Assist the show producer with daily strategies, story angles and guest ideas and acquisition.
• Interact with the audience on-air and via social media on a daily basis when necessary.
• Maintain strong contacts and relationships with local sports brands.
• Create daily content for website and social media channels which can include video projects.
• Prepare and research for broadcasts.
• Protect the station's FCC license.
• Monitor the shows and commercial logs for the air shift.
• Ensuring that promotions and contests are executed properly.
• Making personal appearances at station events and remote broadcasts.
• Other duties as required by management which may require flexible hours.
Qualifications
More About You:
Required & Preferred:
• Experience hosting a successful sports talk show or an equivalent such a live Internet show or podcast.
• Ability to mix in live interviews with the best clips and interviews from existing station interviews and sound from around the country.
• Must have in-depth knowledge of sports teams, players and statistics with a contemporary sound and excellent on-air delivery.
• Knowledge of the broadcast area and station demographics is essential;
• You must be a creative sports junkie and have a point of view.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a broadcast team environment.
• Ability to network and build a list of contacts for news and sports programming
• Research show and news topics and stories
• Understand how to book and create a compelling show/content
• Ability to create and edit compelling original video content is a plus.
• Social Media proficiency and ability to create web content
• Ability to be a contributor for podcasts
